I became an artist member of Blue Line Art gallery in downtown Roseville, CA, in May 2019. Since then, I’ve become increasingly interested in art and art appreciation. I especially enjoy seeing murals and other public art throughout communities, both locally and wherever I travel. The Eureka Street Arts Festival and summer Friday night farmer’s markets there provided inspiration last summer to begin dabbling in art of my own.
We all, regardless of what we consider “artistic ability,” have within us a need to create art of some kind. I have made many mistakes but have learned with each successive piece to keep trying - growth and improvement would come. The ultimate goal for my artwork is to inspire others to take chances by stepping out of their comfort zone and do things they haven’t done before.
I’m grateful most of all to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Master Artist, for allowing me the opportunity to create, and for all of His wonderful creation that inspires me and gives my soul solace. I’d also like to thank Mona Anderson for my first class on acrylic paint pouring, and her support throughout my artist journey; Mary Bomparola for believing in me when I don’t believe in myself; my hippie friend Tanner for his help with my website, endless questions, and the constant push for me to continue creating and better myself along the way; my family for indulging me and not complaining too much about the lack of a dining table when it’s covered with paintings or epoxy resin; and last but not least, I’m thankful for the many other artists, friends, and family members who’ve inspired and encouraged me to dream big. I do adhere to the notion that “it takes a village,” and I’m grateful for mine. Here’s to art, big dreams, and creativity,
Rhonda Ann Parker
